You don’t even know me
Irish sat at her desk, staring off into space while time sped up. Before she knew it, the day was over. She let everyone
know she was leaving as soon as the clock flashed the time.
They all said their goodbyes as she grabbed her purse
and keys. Irish waddled out to the parking space, near the exit and got in her car. She drove off quietly as she mentally
prepared for whatever Justin had planned.
Irish arrived at her apartment and noticed Justin's Escalade was nowhere
in sight. She sighed and walked into her home. Irish got relaxed as she drew herself a nice, warm bubble bath.
Walking
to her closet, she picked out a soft purple maternity shirt and a pair of maternity blue jeans. As she grabbed a some underwear
and a bra, there was a knock at the door.
She sighed and put on her terry cloth robe, before stopping in the bathroom
to put her clothes in there and to turn off the water.
Irish paused at the stereo and turned it on as the knock continued.
"Hold on!" She yelled as the speakers flowed out music from Coldplay.
Irish finally waddled up to the door and
looked through the peephole as she asked who was there.
"It's Justin, Irish." He spoke softly to the door. Irish opened
the door and let him in.
Justin walked through the threshold and noticed that she was in her robe, walking away. He
turned to the door and locked it, before following her.
He then watched her walk into the bathroom. Justin stopped
at the wall, remembering when he gave her that spa day. A small smile appeared on his face.
He took a sneak peak to
see that she was disrobed and halfway in the tub. He looked away and leaned back against the wall as he started to speak.
"Irish,
may I ask you something?"
Irish sighed happily as the warm water soothed her skin. "Sure."
"Why did your employees
call you, Diana?" He waited for her answer, wondering if she was smiling and glowing like she was that day.
"It's
my middle name." She told him as she continued to bathe.
"Wow. So, what is your full name?" He asked.
Irish
had just realized that her child's father knew nothing about her. A frown appeared on her lips as she finished her bath.
Justin
sensed her silence and wondered if she was thinking about the fact, he didn't know a lot outside of the spiritual and sensual
connection they experienced with each other.
"It's Irish Diana Elliot." Irish finally told him as she got out of the
tub to dry off.
"Irish Diana Elliot." Justin smiled as he repeated it. "That's a beautiful name."
Justin continued
to lean against the wall in his own thoughts, unaware that Irish was standing before him. She wore her hair down, smelling
like warm vanilla sugar.
"Justin?" She called his name and brought him back to the here and now.
He snapped
himself out of his thoughts and looked at her standing there in a blue and purple maternity dress that tied in the back. Her
low-heeled flats clicked as she tapped her feet back and forth.
Justin noticed that she seemed taller. He took in the
glow surrounding her face. A crinkle in his eyes appeared as he softly grinned.
"I'm ready." She simply stated.
Justin
closed the distance between them and encircled his arms around her. He softly yet deeply exhaled as the memory of how she
felt came rushing back to him.
Irish was surprised at the embrace yet met his touch, remembering the times before.
"I'm ready, too." Justin whispered.
The drive to his Mom's was the first stop. Irish brushed her bangs from
her eyes as she anxiously waited for the day to be over.
He pulled into driveway as they noticed cars everywhere. Justin
got out and watched her expression as he went to her and helped her out of the car.
"Don't worry. There are not a lot
of people here. It just looks like it." He whispered in her ear, taking her hand.
Irish tightly gripped it as Justin
raised his free hand and knocked on the door. JC opened the door as he saw Justin and Irish. His eyes went to her belly and
smiled.
"Irish?! Wow, it's nice to meet you now you're awake and better. I'm Joshua Chasez or JC. But you know that."
He rambled on while pulling her into a bear hug. Irish looked confused as Justin laughed.
They all walked in where
she was introduced to the rest of the guys; Johnny Wright; their road manager, Randy Jones; Justin's parents; his brothers;
his Grandmother; and Trace.
By the time Irish circled the room and was formally introduced to everyone, she began to
relax. She quietly sat down and watched everyone mingle before she leaned her head back to rest as the baby began to get excited.
She
started to rub her belly in a soothing manner, so the baby would calm down.
A few minutes later, Irish felt someone
sit next to her as she continued to rub her belly.
"What's wrong?" The person sitting next to her asked.
Irish
shook her head with her eyes still closed.
"Well, I just wanted to say thank you for saving his life. How I can ever
repay you or thank you enough?" The person asked.
Irish slowly opened her eyes and turned her head to look at the face
of the voice. A shy smile appeared on her face as she quietly spoke.
"There is no need to thank me. I had to save
him. He's a beautiful soul with so much to live for. And so much to do. I think if someone else had came along before I did,
he would have still been okay."
"But, you didn't use my son. You were honest in everything. He told me the whole story.
About how he didn't know who he was." Tears filled Lynn's eyes as she continued. "You taught him his life all over again."
Irish
bitter sweetly smiled at Lynn as she touched hand. Lynn reached out and rested her other hand on Irish's belly.
"And
he fell in love with you. You sacrificed your feelings to bring him home. Then risking your life and letting him go.”
Irish
looked away as she gnawed on her bottom lip. Lynn continued on, trying to make Irish understand everyone’s gratitude
and how Justin has been feeling since he had been back.
“I heard him tell JC that he respected what you did.
He didn’t want to let you go, but he knew he had to.”
Irish fought her own tears that were trying to escape
from her brown eyes as she bowed her head.
“Is the baby his?” Lynn asked. Irish looked back up at her,
surprised she didn’t know already. Lynn smiled as she read her thoughts. “He said he saw you at your job and wondered.
He was going to tell me after he talked to you. Does he know?”
Irish whispered, yes as she explained the last
couple of days. Lynn listened as a twinkle filled her eyes.
“Just let him be there. If you’re scared, tell
him. He will understand and do it your way.” Irish closed the distance with a hug. She then pulled back and sighed,
wiping her eyes. “Thank you.”
“No, thank you again Irish.” Lynn choked through more tears as
they held each other hands both grateful for the chance to meet.
Justin watched them from afar , grinning from ear
to ear.
